EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL

Podere Scaluccia Extra Virgin Olive Oil comes entirely from olives produced and harvested on the land of our company. It's a tradition that has been going on for generations and it refines more and more with te innovation of our time, The cultivation method is based on respect for nature and our products do not use intensive production systems, or chemicals that are harmful to the environment. In our 6 hectares of land with more than 1000 plants every year we produce an excellent extra virgin olive oil. The cultivars present in the land of our farm are: Frantoio, Moraiolo e Leccino. the different flavors of these qualities create a unique blend, each year different according to the cycle of plants and seasons. The olives are harvested every year at the beginning of November. Every day we take the harvested olives to press in order not to alter the quality. the harvesting system is non-invasive for plants and is done by hand or with the help of small electrical equipment. we offer you a product diversified and every year we certify our oil by analyzing its characteristics.

THE CULTIVAR

Frantoio The Frantoio, native to our region, has a good consistency in productivity and adapts well to summer and winter temperatures. The olives are mostly of an intense green colour with chromatic variations tending to yellow with some purple notes. The resulting oil has a complex taste with references to the taste of artichoke, thistle with a background of almonds.
Leccino IL leccino is a plant widespread in Tuscany for the production of oil, very present on the Florentine hills. The plant is characterized by an early ripening that leads the olive to a black color. The oil obtained from the cultivar leccino is of delicate taste without bitter and spicy notes of particular prominence.
Moraiolo Moraiolo is a widespread plant in Tuscany for the production of oil, very present on the Florentine hills. The olives produced are small but with a good oil yield. The color of the olives varies from deep green to black. The resulting oil has a taste with vegetal notes, decidedly bitter and spicy with leaf aftertaste and woody notes.

In the farm Scaluccia are produced the typical crops of the place: extra virgin olive oil, wine from San giovese grapes and jams. We devote ourselves to the care and cultivation of the farm with the seasonal help of farmers who have lived for a long time and of whom they know the character of the soil. The flavors and aromas that the farm releases, accompany the guest during the stay. Bunches of grapes and purple grains evoke the taste of wine, rows of olive trees recall the round taste of olive oil, fruit trees celebrate the sweet taste of jams and then the fragrance of moss, smell of damp earth, clean air and sparkling. The Breakfast with Tuscan products are the ideal place to enjoy a holiday in the green or the wonders of the Florentine Renaissance. For the aperitif, it will be pleasant to taste a glass of wine, enjoying a spectacular sunset.

THE BREAKFAST

The breakfast in Tuscany is always included in the living room and is served in the fireplace room, where the guest can taste our fig jams, quinces, pears and apricots. And, as usual, there will be Tuscan bruschetta on the table seasoned with extra virgin olive oil from PODERE SCALUCCIA and fresh tomatoes from the garden.
Strawberry jam A classic peasant jam, very good and not widespread on the market. Produced mainly in spring, is a true traditional taste of the Tuscan countryside.
Orange marmalade bitter orange jam is a very fragrant preserve to prepare in winter Delicious if spread on bread or as a filling for cakes, biscuits and tarts, irresistible if accompanied by cheeses with a strong flavor.
